"Holy Week is ordered to the commemoration of Christ's Passion, beginning with his Messianic entrance into Jerusalem" (Universal NOrms, 31). On Palm Sunday, the Church recalls the entrance of Christ the Lord into Jerusalem to accomplish his Paschal Mystery. Accordingly, the memorial of this entrance of the Lord takes place at all Masses, by means of the procession. And the Masses are:
Saturday, March 28th: 5:00 PM
Sunday, March 29th: 8:00 AM
The passion of the Lord dominates thes solemn days. Please remember the
paschal fast which "should be observed everywhere on Good Friday and continued, where possible, on Holy Saturday. In this way, the people of God will receive the joys of the Lord's resurrection with uplifted and responsive hearts" (Constitution of the Sacred Lirturgy, 110).
Jesus, humbling himself out of love for us, did not shield his face from buffets and spitting, but offered his life on the cross.
